INITIAL STORY BOARDS AND RESEARCH IMAGES

THE PLAY EXPLORES TWO WORLDS, THE NATURAL VS THE CLINICAL AND MYSELF AND ANDREW WHYMENT WANTED THE STAGE DESIGN TO REFLECT THIS. THIS LED TO RESEARCH INTO PETRI DISHES, WHERE THE NATURAL EXISTS IN A CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT. I RESEARCHED INTO COLOURS AND THE WAY THEY CAN CHANGE HOW YOU FEEL. I ALSO INVESTIGATED THE DETAILS OF A CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT, SUCH AS THE CURVED EDGES OF VINYL IN A HOSPITAL.

I TOOK IDEAS INTO THE MODEL BOX. TO CREATE A FAKE AND CURATED ENVIRONMENT I CREATED AN ALL GREEN WORLD.
THE SEATING WAS INSPIRED BY A TRADITIONAL OPERATING THEATRE AND SET ON A RAKE. THIS FURTHERED THE VOYEURISTIC THEMES OF THE PLAY.
